The
Will
County
Center
for Community Concerns, in partnership with Will County Community
Development Division and the Will County Health Department, is accepting
applications for the Lead Hazard Reduction Program.
Exposure to lead in the home poses serious health risks, especially for
very young children. Deteriorating paint, household dust, drinking
water and contaminated soil around the foundation are common sources of
exposure. The Lead Hazard Reduction Program will enable
Will
County
residents with children under the age of six to have their home assessed
and appropriate measures taken to reduce identified lead hazards.
To
be eligible, households must meet income guidelines*** and contain
children under the age of six. Families referred
through the Will County Health Department due to a child with elevated
blood lead levels will be given priority status.
Applications
will be taken:
Monday
through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
